NOPS Provides More Than a Decade of High-Tech, Accurate Orthotics with Amfit
NOPS Among Few in Nebraska to Use Amfit
For more than a decade, Ray Lines, CO, at Nebraska Orthotic & Prosthetic Services (NOPS) has been treating patients at the Lincoln office using Amfit computerized custom insole and foot orthotic equipment and supplies.
The Amfit System consists of a foot measurement device called a FootFax™, and a CAD/CAM milling machine, both used in conjunction with Amfit's patented Correct and Confirm Windows™-based medical software.
Amfit has been producing high-quality custom foot orthotics using proprietary CAD/CAM equipment and products, including FootFax Digitizer and Scanner, which is a contact digitization scanner for creating true custom foot orthoses from a first generation computerized foot cast. Ray uses insole blanks and the FootFax Digitizer to provide accurate, unparalleled orthotics. The CAD/CAM Milling Machine he uses controls the entire fabrication process from scan to finish in minutes, so patients can get their orthotics quickly. The Footfax-SL digital foot file directs the CAD/CAM mill to carve either a negative or first generation positive model, for the design and fabrication of both rigid and semi-rigid custom orthoses.
Amfit Orthosis Design Software can be used with either FootFax computerized scanning or the Foot Printer Foam Casting system, providing highly accurate orthotics.
"We strive to use the latest technology," Ray says. "The Amfit System is definitely a highly accurate and efficient way to produce more comfortable orthotics for our patients."
